Stained Glass
Stained glass can make a beautiful statement piece to any home, whether th
at be a traditional period or contemporary design. We offer a full range of Stained Glass services 
including: Restoration/Repair and New Commissions of either custom designs or traditional period designs.

Etched glass produces beautiful obscure glazed panels for a variety of uses. B
oth traditional and modern designs can be incorporated for use in door and window panels, overlights and transoms, kitchen and bathroom splashbacks and 
unique pieces of commissioned art.

We are able to produce bea
utiful unique works of art using the traditional method of Verre Eglomise. Using 23.5 carat gold leaf, these panels were traditionally used to make spectac
ular overlights/transoms and signs but can also make beautiful and unusual stand alone works of art. Gilding has long been used for ornate decorating such as gilded mirror frames.

Decorative Plaster and Composition work
Decorative plasterwork makes a beautiful statement in any period home. Unfortunately, today much of the original ornate co
ving, cornice, ceiling roses and architrave has been ripped our of many Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian homes.
Filers Finer Finishes uses traditional techniques to hand craft original plasterwork. We are able to match existing plasterwork that may be missing from areas of your home, or fully re-instate complete rooms with their original decorative plasterwork.
In addition to decorative plasterwork we also continue the original craft of decorative co
mposition work. Composition work was traditionally used to decorate furniture, fireplaces (typical of pine and gesso Robert Adam's style) and is often used in conjuction with plasterwork for more intricate designs in pieces such as mirrors and picture frames.
